Oct 24, 2007 · Strictly speaking, 75w140 is not required, but it's a better oil; furthermore, if you have any warranty issues, 80w90 in there may be a sufficient reason to void the warranty on the rear. The Sterling 10.5 will not. No need to count bolts. In either case a 75w140 will work in either axle, Ford Specs a 75w85 in the sterling now or at least they did for my 2019.
