Also, you can find standard 590A1s well below the MSRP, and Retrogrades appear to cost well above MSRP. Overall: 4/5. It's not perfect, but it's as close as you can get. The 590A1 Retrograde is a fantastic pump-action shotgun.Remove the barrel. Use the tip of the mag cap to press out the trigger group pins and remove the trigger assembly. Reach in and remove the bolt. Slide the forend off. That's from memory but I'm pretty sure that's it and that it is in the right order. It is very simple to strip these guns down for thorough cleaning.Get a 500 with a rifled barrel (or a combo). If your main use-case is deer, you want that rifled barrel for sabot slugs, and the Nova slug barrels are outrageously priced from what I've seen. Benelli is a better gun all around.
