I have a 2005 w900 with a c15, my jake works when it is cold outside, when it starts warming up around 45 degrees it will work intermittently, if I sit with the heat running it will not work till I start driving to get cold air flowing, above 60 not working at all along with the cruise. I have a 2006 ISX 450 and the jake brakes sometimes run very choppy and rough, enough to shake the whole truck somewhat violently. The problem comes and goes but seems to be warm weather related. It happened a lot last summer and stopped completely this winter and is returning now with the mid 70 ...When I use the brakes with the Jake brake on and on high I see no results, even after down shifting to 4th. Do I have a problem other than mental? ... Regardless of which position I have the engine brake switch in it is on high providing an aggressive braking action slowing the coach down quickly. Works really good in fact too good and I have to ...Pete 379 c15. I put a new clutch sensor and new solenoids but engine brake is still not working. Engine brake button is working. When I put it on, it won’t let me shift, no engine brake sound though.What you think is the brake going through stages at slow speed, is actually the transmission shifting down. A lower gear will drastically increase the braking power from the Jake. If the Jake still does not work right, take it to Oregon Motor Coach or Country Coach. Most likely it is in the Country Coach wiring rather than in the engine ECM.Just had ECM replaced and now Engine Brake (Jake) does not work. New ECM was programed to show unit has engine brake. Has anyone encountered this situation and most importantly what is the fix. Cummins in Irvine could not get it to work.....suggested going to repair facility that is familiar with Monaco chassis and wiring..
